So, I’m closing in on my first peripheral review and I will try and figure out a way to score these thingies for the future. The score will be the same as for games, for areas from 0-25 giving a score from 0-100.
0-4 Really awful
21-25 Very Good
Meaning that a medium is about – 55-75 for a decent OK device.
This is to determine how good the peripheral feels when using it. Is the placement of keys/buttons to your liking? Is a headset feeling to tight over the ears etc. Does the product simply enough feel OK?
The build quality of the peripheral and the value attached to the product as such. If a high valued peripheral feel plastic and cheap – this is a low score does it on the other hand feel great – a good score.
How easy it is to use, and does it perform well? A mouse this is the glide, function of buttons and how well it tracks. For a headset it is how well the mic works, how good the sound is for gaming and communicating – and also if the arm to the mic is easy to get in place etc.
Drivers and functionality tells if the drivers or lack of drivers is a good/bad thing. How well they work and if they are lacking or not. Is the functionality of the peripheral OK or not? Will a backlit keyboard with a mediocre back-lighting get a good score – hardly. A mouse with fewer buttons but with a gimmick to work out that flaw – good or bad etc.
Alright – let’s try it us.
